Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-person and remote patient consultations.
- Take comprehensive medical histories, perform physical examinations, and establish preliminary diagnoses.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Order, review, and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic investigations.
- Prescribe medications and monitor treatment plans and medication therapy.
- Provide urgent and emergency medical care within the scope of general practice.
- Manage and monitor patients with chronic diseases.
- Perform preventive health assessments, screenings, and health promotion activities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Support patients in matters related to mental health and overall well-being.
- Refer patients to specialist services and hospitals when clinically indicated.
- Collaborate closely with practice nurses, physician assistants, and other primary care professionals.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and the management of complex clinical cases.
- Adhere to Dutch healthcare standards, clinical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Candidate Requirements:
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent).
- Valid medical registration and authorization to practice medicine in the Netherlands (BIG registration), or eligibility to obtain such registration.
- Specialization in General Practice (Huisartsgeneeskunde) or an equivalent qualification recognized in the Netherlands.
- Proficiency in Dutch and English at a level sufficient for independent clinical practice (B2–C1).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong patient-centered approach.
- Ability to make independent clinical decisions and work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
