About the Role
You will own the definition, design, and implementation of the target data platform across the ecosystem — from assessing the current landscape to leading its phased delivery.
Location: Azerbaijan (relocation)
What You Will Do
Architecture & Strategy
- Own the end-to-end data platform architecture — current-state assessment, target-state definition, selection of the right architectural model (layered architecture, federated model, or data mesh), and execution of the phased roadmap
- Define and enforce data engineering and architecture standards to ensure scalability, reliability, and long-term sustainability across all business domains
- Represent the data architecture domain within the Enterprise Architecture Committee
- Lead all major platform technology decisions — vendor evaluation, selection, and long-term partnership strategy
Platform & Integration
- Ensure secure and scalable cross-domain data integration to enable ecosystem-level use cases including Customer 360 and Merchant 360
- Build a strong working partnership with the Data & AI Ops team across deployment, monitoring, incident management, and lifecycle governance of data pipelines
People & Teams
- Lead multiple established data engineering teams operating across different platforms, standards, and delivery models
- Drive their alignment into a single coherent engineering function at ecosystem scale
- Define team structure, capability model, and performance expectations
What We Are Looking For
- 10+ years in data engineering, platform engineering, or large-scale system architecture
- 7+ years leading and developing engineering teams
- Proven track record designing data platforms — DWH, Data Lake, Lakehouse — on-premise or cloud
- Hands-on experience across data warehouse, lake, lakehouse, APIs, and data infrastructure
- Strong ability to manage stakeholders across both executive and technical audiences
